What a great way to start a new season, with a 6-1 win! Our results with this team have now gone 1-5 loss, 3-2 win and now this...

Everyone did so well in starting positions, showing how much stronger we can be if we maintain some consistency in playing positions. First half we was 4-0 up, We backed off in the 2nd and mixed things up a bit to give oppo more of a chance. This is definitely the way we want to continue, by keeping game positions relatively fixed.

Holding formation (incl. the defensive line!) was done so well, the shape was good and there were always options for passes. Our fitness shone through on a bigger pitch as we was so dangerous breaking up the wings. A notable goal was Jack's header from Legrand's cross from wide - Premiere League style!

All of the defenders had great games. Not taking chances and clearing the ball when under pressure and generally keeping the oppo's chances to very few. The CDM was there to reinforce, break up play and provide passes (American Football) Quarter-Back style. Dexter in goal had his usual great hands and distributed the ball brilliantly.

It was also noted how much better the behaviour was to each other, the oppo, and when listening to the coaches. Still not perfect, but much better. Many thanks!

Player of the Match will be done through this season - today had to go to Jack with his 4 goals, tricky feet and for being a super team player. A very very close second was Erick for an exemplary defensive display, both with and without the ball. in fact there were 9 very near players of the match!
