Home v Coill Dubh
by Declan O'Sullivan
12 months ago I wrote the following match report after we met Coill Dubh in the cup.
"Dionne Warwick had a passion for football. She must have had. Only football can make you write a song like Heartbreaker.
'Suddenly everything I ever wanted has passed me by'
A penalty shoot out promises heartbreak. And it delivered it in spades to Naas as they tumbled out of the cup.
The last song on Warwick's Heartbreaker album is 'Our day will come'...."
It took 12 months for our day to come. Penalties sent the heartbreak in the opposite direction. Just like Millie O'Sullivan sent the keeper in the opposite direction with her penalty.
Another quarter final awaits..
