Back outworking the opposition.

Back playing good football.

Naas deserved the win today. We played better than them. We outfought them. We created more than them. We were just better than them. And they made us fight for it all the way. So we did.

You could see how much it has been eating Sean Savage that he hadn't scored this season. But as soon as he got his first, he couldn't stop. Put 3 away today. Because that's what Sean Savage does. A captain's performance.

You can see it's eating Niko that he hasn't scored as well. As soon as he gets his first, there'll be no stopping him. He's like a great white shark. Waiting. Prowling. Stalking. He could have had a hatful today from his movement. The goals will come. They always come for the apex predators.

And yet the best player on the pitch today was the guy who never stops. It's not in him to stop. It's not in him to give up the cause. Any time that Newbridge managed to isolate or get past any of our players today, James Lynch appeared in front of them. Like a bouncer in One New Row. 'Not Tonight, Pal.'

Or any time that they counter attacked when our attack broke down, he was after them like a greyhound chasing the hare in Shelbourne Park. Never stopping until the ball was dead. Never stopping until the opposition were beaten. Never stopping.

Naas finally have their season up and running. The lads finally have a smile on their faces.
