Girls U10's Lionesses - Leamington Lions (CE)

An unfortunate loss for the U9 girls to start our season this morning, only their second game as a team. We played a well established Leamington side who played up a year last year, however our girls held them back for majority of the first half. We had runs up the pitch and were close to scoring a few times but we just couldnt get the ball in the back of the net. We conceded an unfortunate goal, followed by a couple more. Then just before half time one of our new girls who is playing up a year, Amelia, went for an amazing run through their half of the pitch and smashed the ball into the top corner.

The second half was tough, leamington came back on with a desire to score more goals but again our girls held them off for the majority of the second half with every single player putting in 110% and not giving up once! Some brilliant defending from "little Grace", Hattie, great saves from Grace D, and amazing runs from Charlotte, Eva, and Amelia but unfortunately we couldn't get the ball in the goal.

Although it was a loss it was a strong start to the season and a fairly even game we just couldn't finish our chances and made some mistakes in our box that cost us. All of our girls gave everything they had. We are so proud of the whole team ❤️🖤
