U12 Orange - Coventry Star Belgrade

Our visitors made the stronger start, winning the midfield battles. With only one sub, some of our lads had to play out of position and that had an impact in the first half.

Building on their strong start Coventry Star Belgrade got in behind our defence forcing William into a fantastic save. Soon after they took the lead with a smart finish inside the box. Some good defending from Jude and Charlie filling in at the back today along with some excellent saves from Williams kept us in it.

Into the 2nd half and we rejigged the team and brought Sam on to shore up the midfield. We looked much better from then onwards with Sam making a real difference on the ball, getting us up the pitch. Finlay did an outstanding job down the right and made some purposeful runs including a lovely cross that Harry nearly converted.

The lads kept pushing and were rewarded in the last minute when Fin G picked up the ball on the edge of the box and hit a superb strike over the keeper and into the net, it was a great sight to see all the lads celebrating the goal together.

Final score 1-1, a great team effort to recover from the first half and earn a well deserved point to keep our unbeaten start to the season going.

Jude and Charlie were outstanding at the back today, great attitude from Charlie in particular for filling in at the back doing a great job for the team 💪

Fin G for keeping going and hitting that fabulous strike to level the match.

Finlay for his outstanding effort today, covering at the back and constantly making runs down the right to get the team up the pitch. A deserved recipient of the values award 🙌

POTM: William was fantastic in goal today, he made save after save to keep us in the game. He is brave and gives the lads at the back so much confidence, well done William 👏
