Girls U11's Lionessess - Leamimgton Lions

The matches are coming around fast and this was our 3rd game of the season already with 1 win, 1 loss and 1 draw to our name.
Today’s match was a great contest and a good challenge for the girls as Leamington Lions are a very good technical team.
Being new to 9 a side we are trying out different formations to see what suits us best, last week we set up as a 3-3-2 and today we set up in 2-4-2 formation enabling a strong bank across the midfield with Rebecca playing higher up the pitch in defensive midfield role.
Stockton started on the front foot and forced several corners but couldn’t make the early pressure count, Mila was having a fine game and was finding some joy on the right wing. Leamington grew into the game and took the lead and 1-0 became 2-0 soon after. Stockton were still in the game though with the 2nd half to come.
With the break approaching we pulled a goal back through Phoebe who remained composed to score her 3rd goal of the season. ⚽️
HT 1-2
A few changes for the 2nd half but we were still looking to keep our shape as we set off in search of an equaliser; However, it was Leamington who made it 3-1, a shot from inside the area which Harriet was unfortunate not to make the save, diving to her right post but the ball squeezed its way through.
After being 2-0 down and then 3-1 down, the girls kept their heads up and continued to probe and create chances and it was very pleasing how we got back into the game. The girls huffed and puffed their way through the game and thoroughly deserved our comeback with Stacie and Molly taking their chances when through on goal ⚽️⚽️
A frantic finish with both teams looking to grab a winning goal but a fair result for both teams.
FT 3-3
A great effort by everyone today 🔴⚫️
MPOTM was awarded to Molly who led the frontline superbly. ⭐️
PPOTM was awarded to Edith who was solid as usual in defence. ⭐️
