U9s Azzuri 3 - 5 Yorkshire Ammers Blue
A really good team effort today. I thought the boys pressed really well and got a lot of success winning the ball high and forcing the mistake - as Ammers struggled to play out. Our reactions to win 1st and 2nd balls and our intensity and support to work for each other off and on the ball was really good. And it’s great to see progress in these areas, as this will help us to become a much stronger team and this helps to see improvements in individuals too.
1st half looked really strong winning 2-1; pressing really well and in possession kept looking to find the free player to create chances.
In the 2nd half, a couple of times players reacted a little too slow in the transition which cost us a couple of soft goals. Which was a shame as it felt like our hard work in the 1st half was a bit undone. However, the boys picked themselves up and showed great resilience to dominate the last half; created loads of chances and kept pushing to score more goals until the end.
It was great to see everyone working for each other and being good team players too. A special shoutout to Theo K and Theo M who I thought both deserved joint MOTM, as both players kept showing great bravery on the ball and the desire & energy shown to win the ball back for their team was brilliant 🙌
Overall, I was really proud of all the teams effort and performance today; working for each other and playing as a team.
