U9 Calcio Talent and Select - Yorkshire RTC

U9 Azzuri narrowly lost out 3-2 to Yorkshire RTC Blue.

It was a very tense and competitive game. And the boys should be proud of their effort and performance today. We controlled the majority of the game but couldn’t put our chances away. It was 0-0 for such a long time; and we then got punished twice from direct long balls or players jumping out of position at the wrong time. Going 2-0 down.

However, the boys picked themselves up and bounced back really well, getting 2 goals back. With Theo M assisting Alex to finish from close range. And Liams great cross from a corner allowed Theo M to smash the ball into the back of the net. As we was trying to go for the winner towards the end of the game, we got caught on the counter and got punished from an unfortunate miss timed clearance, falling to their player from close range.

Overall, a really positive performance, unfortunate about the outcome and on another day could have scored several more if it wasn’t for their tall keeper who made some brilliant saves to keep them in it. Proud of the players efforts and intentions on the ball. Lots of positives that we can keep improving on as a team.
