Girls U9's - Coventrians

After last week’s semi final exit in the cup we were eager to get back to league action. This morning we were at home vs Coventrians.

An abundance of goals today for Stockton. It was achieved in unusual circumstances as we played 4 v 4 for the majority of the match due to Coventrians having some player issues. We agreed to reduce our team to 4 players to even it up but Stockton proved to be too strong for them as the girls found the net with ease and regulatory.

A turn in the weather nearly halted the game but the wind and rain fortunately gave to way to brighter skies to let the game continue. 

With a full squad of 10 available and now 6 subs to include we took the opportunity to let the girls try out different positions. Edith played further forward and bagged herself a couple of goals and Harriet had a stint outfield in the 2nd half and also bagged herself a goal. 

Despite the circumstances we moved the ball around well today and scored some really good goals including a wonderful curling free kick from Ivy. 

Fair play to Coventrians to keep going and keeping their heads up in what was a difficult game for them.
