U11 Calcio Talent & Select - U11 UFCA Blacks

We started slowly in the first quarter and gave away some pretty poor goals. Going 2-0 down in the first 10mins is always a difficult task to overcome. We however, did play some nice football & played out from the back well at times during the first period, but struggled to really create clear chances.

We set a trap out of possession which was where our team dropped deep from their goal kicks. This forced the opponents to play short & we pressed really well. We won the ball lots of time high up the pitch which allowed us to gain more confidence in the game. We scored a goal from Mustafa’s pass & it was a good finish from Seth.

We had to really go for it in the last 2 quarters and went to 2 at the back. I thought Nate in particular was excellent with his defending, so determined and aggressive, which allowed us to be braver and send more players up the pitch.
We managed to score from a great kick from Thomas which Tom, finished excellently 1v1 on his weaker foot.

The last quarter we scored really early from the corner, with a good ball from Joe & header from Mustafa. It was then basically an attack v defence, where we did everything right but score. We created some really good opportunities but some good goal keeping and some poor finishing from us, meant that we couldn’t get a deserved draw in the end.

Special mention to Ben & Thomas who I thought did really well this week with their starting positions & took on board our IDP’s this week and implemented it into the game today.

MOTM 🏆 Nate - defended with bravery and was excellent at playing out too.
