U10 Calcio Talent & Select - Selby Town U10

Calcio battled the wind and rain but couldn't quite conquer Selby Town who ran out 9-6 victors in the final seeding match of September.

A slow start to the game saw us go behind as Selby Town created plenty of separation versus our man marking system out of possession. Their wingers pulled the strings turning provider for number 9 who bagged 5 of their goals on the day.

The second half demonstrated a noticeable improvement playing out from the back, with some lovely composed football to find Dylan and Lewen on the flanks to spring our attacks. Out of possession we made the switch to put Isaac on their 9 which seemed to keep him much quieter after his flurry of impressive goals in the final period. The boys are showing a good level of versatility and coachability so far in adapting to new instructions and challenges.

We battled until the end showing a never say die attitude, pressing until the end which perfectly represents the calcio way. We will continue to work on playing through the thirds and plenty of work required with our out of possession responsibilities. Standard stuff for early season, the boys will rise to the challenge I'm certain.

Man of the match voting was a tie with Dylan and Isaac sharing the votes.
