U14 Orange - Cov Phoenix Blaze
The boys were unlucky not to get at least a draw today, as for most of the game we were the better team...especially the 1st half.
Probably deserved the win, but both times we went ahead, we let them back into the game.....having said that, we can't fault the boys commitment.
For the 2nd game running, they've given everything,
they just need a bit of luck.
Decision making on when to make the early pass or try to take on an extra man is something for us to work on in training, but the heavy pitch didn't help with how playing fast football (although still a million times better than Campion).
We have the same opposition in a few weeks and now know their strengths (no.7 + Rory Delap style long throw), so look forward to the re-match.
2 or 3 wins from the next 4 games is well within the boys reach, to make our 1st season in T3 safe, and to build on for next season.
MOTM today was a very close call between Toby H snapping into his tackles playing CB in Lennons absence, and Sam C for doing the same in midfield and then pressing from the front when playing ST with George Haydn..
SamC edged it for the pressing from the front, just as Toby H does when playing the same position.
Fantastic to see and hear Eddy and Dylan fitting in to the team for their 1st league game with us.
