SWR U9 Lions - Monk Fryston Storm

🦁 SWR Lions Match Report 🦁

Monk Fryston 9 – 1 SWR Lions

Well… that went well. 😂

A tough, hard-fought game today against Monk Fryston, and unfortunately the result went about as badly as it possibly could. The scoreline of 9-1 might suggest we spent the afternoon admiring the opposition, but that would be incredibly unfair — the Lions ran their socks off from start to finish.

There was hard running from every single player, with the Lions putting in a huge shift. Unfortunately, someone forgot to tell the scoreboard that effort counts too! 🤦‍♂️😂

⚽ Goal: William

At least William remembered which end we were supposed to be scoring in! 👏😂

🏆 Coaches’ Player of the Match: William

A great effort and thoroughly deserved after working hard throughout the game and getting himself on the scoresheet.

👏 Parents’ Player of the Match: Lukas

Another cracking effort from Lukas, who covered plenty of ground and kept battling right until the end.

The result definitely wasn't what we wanted, but the effort was there. Sometimes football gives you one of those days where absolutely nothing seems to go your way — today was very much one of those days. 😂

Heads up, Lions! 🦁

9-1 hurts, but we dust ourselves off, learn from it and go again. 💪⚽
