U10 UFCA v Rochdale Blue

An extremely rare scoreline for U10's football, 1-1 against Rochdale Academy.

A very frustrating morning down at BPA. The build up play from our defensive third into midfield was good, but we struggled to link in the attacking third and create anything clear cut against a well organised low block from Rochdale.

The goal we scored came from a really good passage of play. Ethan stepped in with the ball, he and Fred combined with a few quick passes which opened up the space for the finish, Seeing the boys transfer what they worked on during training on Friday and applying it in the game was really good. However, it can't only happen once, there has to be a level of consistency and repetition.

Rochdale's goal was simple, if you dont apply pressure to the ball and track runners you get punished.

It's also worth mentioning the penalty. Missing penalties can happen to anyone and it takes a lot of courage to step up and take a penalty. There's no doubt that if we get another pen, Fred will step up again and score!
