U12 Blacks 26/27 - Ammers
A disappointing 2-1 loss to Ammers on Saturday. I say loss, when it’s hard to, given the match was cut short by a 1/5th and we didn’t play the last 16 minutes. That said, purely concentrating on the game itself, there were many aspects to take from the match. You can usually learn so much more from a loss than a win, and that’s a positive during these 3 matches leading into the league season. Ammers were a strong, physical side, but in the main, the boys stood up to that challenge. Going behind early to a “worldie” goal, the boys didn’t drop their heads and in the 1st 40 minutes played the better football, created the better chances and rightfully equalised., From there I saw only 1 winner. However, it wasn’t to be on this occasion. On another day, the chances we created we will put away. Then Ammers get their winner from a freakish own goal, via a corner that should have been a goal kick. Things clearly to work on, There were some very good individual performances, clear standouts, however, we need to improve as a collective, and certainly work on our positional approach on transitions - from in to out. I’m very confident in this group and look forward to the league season ahead.
