U13 Blacks 25/26 - Leeds United Girls U14

The U13s Blacks faced a tough challenge this weekend in difficult weather conditions, taking on a talented, strong and physical opposition in Leeds Utd U14 Girls.

From the first whistle, it was clear that the heavy rain and blustery wind would make controlling the ball and maintaining possession extremely difficult.

Despite their best efforts, our players struggled to find their rhythm and were unable to match the intensity and physicality of the opposing side. The opposition pressed aggressively and took advantage of their physical strength, forcing our team onto the back foot for much of the game.

There were moments of promise, particularly when the team tried to play through the midfield in particular through Sharpey who was excellent on the day and keep the ball on the ground, but the conditions made it hard to sustain any consistent pressure. Defensively, the players worked hard under constant pressure, showing determination and commitment even when things weren’t going their way.

Although the result didn’t go our way, there were valuable lessons learned about resilience, teamwork, and the importance of maintaining standards throughout the 80 minutes.
