Boys U12 (2014) Major - BBC United
It finished just 2-0 on the scoreboard… but make no mistake, this was a footballing avalanche from start to finish as the boys in blue tore through BBC United in a display that had parents gasping, coaches beaming, and defenders diving for cover!
The warning signs came immediately. Barely five minutes had passed when Naas struck first blood. After relentless early pressure and slick passing around the box, the ball fell to Alex, who took one look up before drilling a brilliant finish into the far bottom corner beyond the helpless BBC United keeper. The sidelines erupted as Naas announced their intentions early.
From there, the floodgates looked ready to burst open.
Wave after wave of attack crashed toward the BBC United goal, with the crowd audibly ooohing and aaahing every time the blue jerseys surged forward. On another day, this could easily have ended 7 or 8 nil.
But standing between Naas and total destruction was the fantastic BBC United goalkeeper, a towering figure who seemed to fill every inch of the net! Time after time he threw himself in the way of rockets, rebounds and goalmouth chaos to keep the scoreline respectable.
The pressure finally told again when James unleashed another dangerous effort toward goal. Their defender attempted to deal with it but made a costly mistake, and the ball trickled over the line to double Naas’ lead and send the crowd wild once more.
At the other end, Naas keeper Evan enjoyed yet another clean sheet, calmly sweeping up everything that came near him with the confidence of a veteran shot-stopper.
Another talking point among the crowd was Naas’ unbelievable defence. One excited spectator was overheard comparing the back line of Darragh, James and Darragh to the legendary defence of AC Milan and honestly, it wasn’t far off! The trio tackled fiercely, won towering headers, and launched attack after attack down the left flank with ruthless efficiency.
In midfield, Sam, Bobby, and Sebastian controlled the game like seasoned pros, creating space, moving the ball with style, and constantly driving Naas forward. Every pass seemed to open another crack in the BBC United defence.
Then came the magic feet of Eoghan and Rory. The pair twisted and turned through defenders with dazzling dribbling runs that had spectators on the edge of their seats before whipping dangerous balls into the box for hungry forwards Conor and Alex.
And when the final whistle blew, the referee’s verdict was clear: Man of the Match — Eoghan. A performance full of flair, energy and skill that lit up the entire game.
BBC United battled brave, but this was Naas at their absolute best: organised, fearless, relentless and completely dominant.
If the boys in blue keep producing performances like this, there is every chance they could march their way toward the league title.
