UFCA U15s made a strong start to their JPL Premier Division Yorkshire campaign with an impressive 3–1 victory over Halifax Town.
From the outset, UFCA controlled possession and created the better chances, but Halifax proved dangerous on the break. Midway through the first half, the visitors took the lead with a counter-attacking goal – though it may not have stood had VAR been in operation, with strong claims for handball, a foul, and an offside in the build-up.
Despite the setback, UFCA stuck to their game plan and continued to apply pressure. After the interval, the dominance was rewarded. A slick team move saw Will Randall finish coolly after an excellent assist from Josh Turner-Fielder to level the score.
The momentum swung firmly UFCA’s way, and Reilly Halliday stepped up with two decisive strikes – first converting from the penalty spot, before unleashing a spectacular 25-yard effort into the top corner to seal the points in style.
A commanding performance and a fantastic way to begin the league season.
