U15 Yellows 25/26 - Dearne & District
UFCA U15’s yellows vs Dearne & District
An impressive afternoons work for the yellows on Saturday.
We set a number challenges prior to the game which were met head on by the group.
The desire to defend our box continued which has been the basis for our recent performances. Our defensive unit, led by a superb Taylor Broadbent, managed the game with complete assurance allowing very few opportunities for the Dearne and District front line.
We discussed being competitive out of possession which was certainly the case all over the pitch. This was epitomised by the duo of Charlie Mawson and Billy Glover in central midfield. Both players displaying a strong mix of aggression and ability to move the ball with purpose.
In terms of our wide play, we talked about being unpredictable and mixing up how to hurt the opposition. This was demonstrated in excellent fashion, with our wingers recognising when to go 1v1 and when to combine. Josh Ncube’s attitude and physical output, inspired what turned out to be an extremely dominant attacking performance from the yellows.
In the central attacking areas, once again Alfie Glancy and Ollie Burnett were able to use their ability to generate a number of opportunities. The most impressive moments being when both respective players showed excellent decision making around when to combine and when to dribble. This intelligent play resulted in the team being a constant threat in and around the box.
Players entering the pitch at half time equalled the standard set in the first half, and were able to significantly contribute to keeping the energy and quality high. Rocco’s decision making, ball striking and second clean sheet in a row, rounded off a confident and clinical 7-0 win for the yellows.
