UFCA U16 vs Calcio — 5–3 Win
We started the game very strongly. The team showed great desire to press high, win the ball early, and we were rewarded with three goals before half-time. Going into the break 3–1 up was a deserved reflection of our early intensity.
However, the game was played at only one speed. This made it difficult for us to control possession, slow the game down when needed, and find the right moments to progress forward. At half-time, we spoke about securing the first couple of passes to build more control. Although the intention was there, we still lacked the detail and decision-making to execute it properly.
Because of this, a match that we should have managed comfortably became more like a derby, with unnecessary pressure and moments where we lost control.
Overall:
Well done for showing a strong reaction from last week and for qualifying for the next round. The effort and attitude were positive. But there is clear room for improvement, especially in being sharper and smarter on the ball. We must recognise when to keep possession and build the attack and when to play forward with purpose.
Let’s keep pushing standards and learning from every performance.
