Lapworth 2s (pre-season friendly)

Back at Wolverton Road, the second teams met in another 40 over friendly.
Norton batted first on a good wicket, with openers Joe Williamson (31) and Toby White (100 retired) cashing in.
The run-fest continued as Dan Fell (83) and Mark White (36no) kept the scoreboard busy.
The hosts finished on 270-2 as Lapworth used nine bowlers to try and control the onslaught.

After another sumptuous Norton tea, the reply saw the batters face Martin Hall and Toby White in the chase.

Some tight bowling saw them concede only 26 runs in their thirteen overs together, Hall 2-20 off 6 and White 1-6 off 5. Raj Singh (109 retired) managed to accumulate from the change bowlers, but there was insufficient support from the other batters. Lapworth reached 204-7 off their 40 overs, giving Norton a 66 run win.
