U15 Blacks 25/26 - Club Thorne u15s

Match Report
Club Thorne 2–5 UFCA U15 Blacks
UFCA U15 Blacks extended their unbeaten run with a hard-fought 5–2 victory away at Club Thorne — a game that tested the team’s resilience, adaptability, and belief from the very first whistle.
The match couldn’t have started much worse for UFCA. Within the opening five minutes, both starting centre-backs Logan Kingswood and Louie Briggs were forced off with injuries, leaving the side to completely reshuffle their defensive line. The disruption gave Club Thorne early confidence, and they took full advantage — scoring within two minutes and adding a second soon after from the penalty spot.
For the opening 20 minutes, Club Thorne were firmly on top. Their direct, physical style caused problems, and UFCA struggled to settle into their usual rhythm. The hosts looked dangerous with every long ball and set piece, while UFCA were battling to find composure.
However, what followed was a brilliant response — the kind that reflects the team’s growing maturity and togetherness. After the first interval, UFCA began to get the ball down and play their football. The midfield trio started to dictate the tempo, the wide players stretched the game, and the defence — despite the early changes — began to deal confidently with Thorne’s direct approach.
Once UFCA found their passing rhythm, the game flipped on its head. Corben Peacock began to cause havoc with his intelligent movement and sharp finishing, scoring a fine hat-trick to turn the game completely around. Caleb Westerman added a well-taken goal after a flowing team move, and Oscar Anderson capped off the performance with a composed finish late on.
From 2–0 down, UFCA had scored five unanswered goals — dominating possession, showing bravery in and out of possession, and displaying the hard work and character that define this group.
There was plenty to admire beyond the scoreline too: the adaptability shown after losing two key defenders, the leadership from senior players on the pitch, and the collective belief that never wavered even when two goals behind.
The result keeps UFCA unbeaten heading into a big game next week against NYSA — a perfect test for a team growing in confidence and unity each week.
Man of the Match: 🏆 Corben Peacock — led the line superbly, showed great composure in front of goal, and worked tirelessly for the team.
