UFCA U15s Blacks produced a strong away performance to secure a 6–3 victory over Evolution Academy in York, showing character, composure, and quality throughout.
Following a disappointing display against NYSA the previous week, the group were determined to deliver a response — and they did just that. Despite the early start, the players arrived focused and ready for a tough test against a good Evolution side.
The game was played on a well-prepared grass pitch, allowing UFCA to impose their trademark passing style. The opening half saw the visitors dominate possession, moving the ball confidently and creating several good opportunities. However, Evolution Academy proved organised and competitive, making sure the game stayed tight despite UFCA’s control of the ball.
The breakthrough came through Will Olunuga, who reacted well inside the area to finish calmly. Joe Watson then doubled the advantage with a towering header, before Corben Peacock twice converted from the penalty spot — both taken with confidence and precision. Late goals from Charlie Hunt and Miles Hourigan, each striking superbly from the edge of the box, rounded off an impressive attacking display.
While Evolution continued to work hard and threaten on the counter, UFCA’s defensive organisation and fitness in the second half ensured they maintained control and saw the game out professionally.
Head Coach Steven Hart was full of praise for his players’ mentality and performance:
“We asked the boys to respond after last week, and they did that brilliantly. The attitude, focus, and quality on the ball were all there. Evolution made it a real test, but our composure and teamwork shone through.”
The win provides valuable momentum heading into another big challenge next weekend against Pickering Town, as the U15s Blacks continue their run of competitive fixtures.
