U15 UFCA 25/26 - Hawkes 360
UFCA U15s 6–0 Hawkes 360
National Cup – Round of 16
A dominant and mature performance from UFCA U15s saw them sweep aside Hawkes 360 and book their place in the last eight of the National Cup.
UFCA started on the front foot and were rewarded early. After just five minutes, excellent work down the right from Reilly Halliday ended with a perfectly weighted pass across goal for Corben Peacock, who showed his usual sharpness to calmly stroke the ball home.
The same combination struck again shortly after half-time. Halliday’s unselfish play once more put the chance on a plate for Peacock, who showed great energy and anticipation to double his tally and give UFCA a deserved 2–0 lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern, with UFCA controlling possession and using it with real purpose. On 62 minutes, Rico Bailey-Robinson produced a superb crossfield ball, met by an excellent first touch and composed finish from Zac Black to make it three.
Ten minutes later, Joe Joyce added the fourth with a moment of quality. Reacting quickest to a deflection, Joyce showed great technique with a fine first touch before guiding a well-placed half-volley into the net.
Just three minutes on, full-back Jenson Mallory showed outstanding attacking instincts. Latching onto another loose ball on the edge of the box, he confidently stroked home from 15 yards to make it five.
The scoring was completed on 79 minutes when Aaron Herbert forced a mistake from the opposition goalkeeper and reacted quickest to tap in UFCA’s sixth.
UFCA were at their very best throughout — dominating the game from the off, showing possession with purpose, and competing superbly against Hawkes’ direct style of play.
There was a brief wobble shortly before half-time, as reactions crept in following a few late challenges, but this was addressed calmly at the interval. The boys showed real maturity to regain their composure and get straight back on track in the second half.
Attention now turns back to league action this Saturday, with a tough test against Chesterfield as UFCA resume the defence of their league title.
