In one of the biggest fixtures of the JPL Premier Division so far, UFCA U15s delivered a statement performance with a commanding 5–1 win over York City at Bodington Football Hub.

From the first whistle, it was clear both sides came to compete — two top squads, led by two of the best coaching teams in the league, went head-to-head in a fiercely contested encounter. York enjoyed good spells of possession but struggled to turn that into clear-cut chances, while UFCA always looked the more dangerous in the attacking third.

The hosts took control in the first half with goals from Isaac Weatherill, who rose highest to head home from a corner, and Aaron Herberts, finishing neatly from inside the box.

After the break, UFCA showed their ruthless edge in front of goal. Rico Bailey-Robinson smashed home a half-volley, Charlie Hunt added a composed finish, and Hugo Farad rounded off the scoring after outpacing the York defence. York’s late consolation goal came after a brief lapse in concentration, but it did little to dampen what was a dominant all-round display.

Defensively, UFCA were superb throughout, with Liam McGinness outstanding at right back. Every player in the squad delivered at least a 7/10 performance — disciplined, focused, and clinical.

This was a different kind of test — less about dominating possession, more about control without the ball and punishing in the final third — and the lads executed it perfectly.

Next up is Pontefract, in a clash that could play a big part in shaping the early-season title race.
