U15 Yellows 25/26 - Team 780
Team 780. 8-4 UFCA Yellows
A disappointing end to the campaign for the yellows.
Team 780 were certainly a very different looking side to the one we comfortably beat at Benton Park just a few weeks ago.
Quarter 1
2-1 loss
After starting the game nervously we struggled with our defensive shape and found it difficult to deal with the pace and power of 780’s front line. That being said we managed to weather the storm during the early stages.
Quarter 2
4-0 loss
With our make shift back line and a direct style from Team 780, the yellows were pulled apart comprehensively in quick succession. Individual errors hurt us in what was a very difficult period for the group.
Quarter 3
1 -1 draw
At half time we talked about mentality, expectations and what it would take to win the second half. The response from the group considering a tough first half was excellent. We set up with a much improved shape and competed well all over the pitch.
Quarter 4
2-1 win
We were much stronger in the remaining 20 minutes forcing 780 to be on the back foot due to a combination of our aggression and positive play. It was a shame to concede the final goal as we limited 780 to minimal attacks in the closing stages.
The game really should have been a much closer scoreline, however we were punished for a number of avoidable mistakes. Still, lots of learning opportunities to take forward for this group.
