A tough afternoon in North Yorkshire saw UFCA U15 Blacks fall to their first defeat of the season, losing narrowly in a seven-goal battle.
With two late withdrawals leaving the squad short on numbers for the long trip from Leeds, the boys started brightly and raced into a 2–0 lead inside 20 minutes thanks to early goals from Miles Hourigan and Rory Coller-Booth. There were some encouraging moments of sharp passing and attacking play, but overall the work rate wasn’t quite at the level that’s come to define this group.
As the first half wore on, NYSA grew into the game and began to outwork and outfight UFCA. Their energy and desire turned the game around, and by half-time the hosts led 3–2.
A much better reaction followed after the break. UFCA showed improved intensity and were rewarded when Rory Coller-Booth grabbed his second of the game to make it 3–3. However, a conceded penalty midway through the half restored NYSA’s lead, and despite both sides battling hard in the final 20 minutes, the score remained 4–3.
Plenty of lessons to take, and the group will look to bounce back next weekend against Evolution (York).

A strong, composed performance and great attitude throughout.
