Boys U15 (2011) Premier - Moone

Our 1st Round SFAI Cup match finally got to be played this morning in perfect conditions for a match with Moone Celtic.
Naas set a really good tempo early in the match and we're getting early joy on both wings with Jamie Byrnes and Fabio Kolakowski also controlling the midfield area.
Henry Walsh and Roddy Cummins then linked very well on the left wing once again when a nice pass from Henry set Roddy into space and his well struck shot took a deflection and flew to the net to open the scoring in the 7th minute
Naas continued to set the tone and this pressure resulted in the winning of a corner.
Sean Cooke and Roddy Cummins showed very quick thinking to take the corner short and upon receipt of the ball Sean played a lovely pass to Conor Gillespie who finished really well to move Naas 2-0 up after 10 minutes
Naas were really on top now and although not all our passes were sticking to our liking in the next few minutes Sean Cooke on receiving another pass from Roddy Cummins showed a moment of real quality to finish clinically from the edge of the box on the left hand side for the teams 3rd goal
Shortly after another nice passing move lead to Conor Gillespie laying the ball off nicely on the edge of the 18 yard box for Fabio Kolakowski to drive his shot to the roof of the net for 4-0 as the match reached the 20th minute
Very quickly the score moved to 5-0 when Dylan Hynes run lead to the ball falling for Senan Browne who again from the edge of the box drove his shot into the roof of the Moone net for 5-0
One of the only real danger moments for Naas came as Half Time approached and a Moone cross was brilliantly cut out by Henry Walsh to save what was likely to have been a clear goal scoring opportunity
Our Centre Backs Sean Durnin and Ilya Cerepanovs cut out any danger that came their way and linked well to get some nice plays moving with our keeper Ksawery Dziabor spreading the ball out wide with some good passes to his team mates when called upon
The second half started with the tempo dropping off slightly but gradually the team started to click again. A driving run mid way through the 2nd half from Conor Gillespie showing both pace and strength to hold of to the defender lead to him being taken down for a penalty.
A nice moment between team mates ended with Tyler Gleeson stepping up to score with a beautifully placed penalty which was met with great cheers from all his team mates along with supporters and coaches on the sideline. It was a richly deserved goal for a player who gives his absolute all every time he pulls on the Naas AFC Jersey
Not long after Finn Ryan covered 50 yards running back at pace to win possession in our right back defensive position. Finn then played a beautiful pass to Conor Gillespie just inside the Moone half. Following a couple of touches Conor then delivered a perfectly weighted pass to Dara o Shea. Dara drove towards goal and finished clinically to the bottom left hand corner of the net to finish the days scoring in some style
A strong Naas display overall with a real collective group of strong performances on the day
Naas now look forward to a 2nd Round SFAI Cup match away to Wicklow Rovers next Saturday which the players will very much look forward to and prepare for during the week ahead
